Hi Dear Reader,
How are you doing today? Are you enjoying October so far?
Here in Minnesota, it has been cold and dreary. The first part of the week it rained. Then, it snowed yesterday. Yuck! I’m so not ready for winter. I tell Hubby that I miss Texas and am ready to go back, especially when I have to break out the hats and gloves! He laughs like it’s a joke. Sometimes, it’s not.
What do you do when the weather isn’t nice? I like to read, of course! This past week, I joined Kindle Unlimited for the first time in years, because I found my Kindle while cleaning my desk. I usually read on my phone with the nook app. I love Barnes and Noble.
Do you read in KU? Why or why not?
Here are the books I’m reading this month.
Gucci Girls Don’t Date Cowboys
This book is in KU!
It’s a cute story about a big time Chicago girl that ends up in a small town in Montana. She runs away from her ex and the canceled wedding to her sister’s ranch in Montana. She meets one of the cowboys and grudgingly helps him out of a tricky situation. It was a cute warm fuzzy read.
Brush Creek Cowboy
This book is free on all retailers!!!
This one is on my TBR for the fall. Liz is one of my favorite authors. Below is the blurb. Doesn’t it sound good?
Go up the canyon to Brush Creek Ranch, where a community of retired rodeo cowboys are looking for love...
He's a cowboy raising his son alone. She's a widow with a chocolate obsession. Can Brush Creek cowboy Walker get over his losses and fears in order to build a future with Tess?
★ USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR ★
Former rodeo champion and cowboy Walker Thompson trains horses at Brush Creek Horse Ranch, where he lives a simple life in his cabin with his ten-year-old son, Michael.Â
He's worked with Tess Wagner, a widow who came to Brush Creek to escape the turmoil of her life to give her seven-year-old son, Graham, a slower pace of life. Together, they run a cotton candy stand at the town's Heritage Festival every fall, and Walker gets up the nerve to ask Tess to dinner.
Neither of them wants to inflict more sorrow and suffering on the other than they've already endured. So when Tess confesses that her breast cancer has flared up again, Walker backs off. Way off.
He'll have to decide if he'd rather spend even a short time with Tess and Graham than not have them in his life at all. Tess wants to feel God's love and power, but she'll have to discover and accept God's will in order to find her happy ending. Can Walker and Tess make a family with their sons, the horses, and a lot of chocolate?
A Doctor Second Chance for the Rancher
This book is free on all retailers!!!
T
This is a new to me author? Have you read her books? I think it sounds good and is going to be my weekend read. Blurb below:
Stuck together in the same space with no way of getting out, can the reluctant rancher open her heart again to the laid-back doctor she’d loved a few decades before?
Maggie Fields is happy with her life: she has a ranch to care for, three successful foster sons to watch over, and a granddaughter to dote on. So when the one man who broke her heart many decades ago lands on her doorstep, she’s not willing to give him a chance again.
Widowed Peter Taylor has reached the pinnacle of his career as an award-winning general surgeon and raised two accomplished children. But something seems missing in his life. So when he takes a road trip to see a friend and runs into his long-lost love, he’s determined to find out why she left him many years ago.
After they get trapped together in a barn, will they resolve their issues and give love a second chance, or will old secrets keep them apart forever?
A DOCTOR SECOND CHANCE FOR THE RANCHER, a sweet second chance medical cowboy romance, is the prequel to A Cowboy Loves the Doctor series.
What are you reading this month? Have you read any of these? I’ll be curling up with a cup of tea or hot chocolate to devour these.
Hugs,
Allie
No I don’t have Kindle Unlimited, I am a self funded retire so don’t have spare money. I sign up for lots of ARC’s so have plenty of books to read. I wait for Christmas and birthdays to buy extras in series.
I really like Kindle Unlimited and I also purchase many Kindle books. I don't have a Kindle any more...I read on my laptop. The phone screen is too small! 😄
