“I hate Mondays,” Louisa flopped onto the office chair next to mine. She laid her head in the crook of her elbow on my desk.
“Now what?” I rolled my eyes to the clock on the wall. “We only have ten minutes until closing.”
“Lazy B called.”
My nose wrinkled. Lazy B was one of the big ranches in the area. They seemed to be coming into the vet clinic daily. It was always a different cowboy bringing in an animal. “What is it this time?” I sighed. When they called, it was never good.
“Jed’s rope horse got tangled in a fence. And needs stitches,” she said with her face down on the desktop.
“Okay…how long until they get here.”
“Fifteen minutes,” she muttered.
I groaned. I would be working late again, and I wanted to bang my head on the desk with Louisa. “Who’s Jed?”
