I frowned at his retreating back, cocking my head to the side. Levi stood in the middle of a group of men talking to them. I didn’t recall him trying to get Kaleb’s attention. Kaleb molded himself into the group. I shrugged and turned back to the bar.

“I’ll have a Dr. Pepper,” I gave my drink order to the bartender.

Pete appeared next to me and ordered four other drinks. “Hey, Erin, you’re at our table in the front there.” He nodded to a table where Melanie sat with a couple of other people.

“Perfect.” I smiled at him. I didn’t want to sit by myself with a bunch of strangers. At least this way, I knew some of the people. “Need some help?”

“Nope, I’ve got it.” Pete leaned against the counter and waited for the drinks.

I started away but hesitated. I shouldn’t get involved. I closed my eyes, mentally kicking myself I turned back to Pete.
