Blazing red anger and sharp green jealousy were not two emotions I’ve never had to deal with together. But seeing that man, Erin’s fiancé, touching her. I couldn’t think straight. What was true and real? Was she with him? Did she leave him like he said she did? What about how she reacted to me? I ran my fingers through my hair and gunned the gas. My old truck jumped forward, speeding out of town toward the ranch.

She was just like every other girl. Looking for a man with money and able to take care of her. A little voice in the back of my head said that wasn’t true. I ignored it.
